Dear Students,
For courses with schedule conflicts, the following principles shall apply depending on whether the courses have been taken previously:
a) If two practical courses overlap, they cannot be taken simultaneously, regardless of whether they have been taken previously.
b) If a practical course and a theoretical course overlap, both courses may be taken provided that the theoretical course has been taken previously and the student has received a passing grade other than F0.
c) If two theoretical courses overlap, both courses may be taken provided that the student has previously received a passing grade other than F0 in at least one of them.
d) Students who meet the requirements specified in items (b) and (c) may, only once during the same semester, register for one of the conflicting courses through the Student Information System (OBS), while registration for the other course may be completed upon the decision of the Faculty Administrative Board.
The following courses must under no circumstances overlap with a course that is being taken for the first time:
- -Mathematics I
- -Physics I
- -General Chemistry
- -Separation Processes
- -Genetic Engineering
- -Bioengineering Laboratory II
Students in this situation must submit a petition to the relevant Department Chair in order to register for the conflicting course. Applications will be evaluated based on the approval of the Department Chair and finalized by a decision of the Faculty Administrative Board. Following approval, the course registration will be entered into the Student Information System (OBS) by the relevant Faculty Dean’s Office.
The deadline for submitting a petition to the Faculty in order to register for conflicting courses is 9 October 2026 at 17:00 (5:00 PM). Application petitions to be submitted to the Department for registration in conflicting courses must be uploaded using this form.
Please note that:
- -Petitions without a signature will be rejected without evaluation.
- -Petitions without the course group number will be rejected without evaluation.
- -Requests concerning USS and UMS courses, as well as service/common-pool courses, whose quotas are already full in -OBS will be rejected.
- -For BYM-coded elective courses, if there is another group with available quota, requests submitted for groups whose quotas are full will be rejected.
Courses that have been cancelled will be announced on our website on 23 September 2026. In order to allow students enrolled in cancelled courses to select alternative courses, if all remaining courses have reached full capacity, the quotas of those courses will be increased equally.
