CO-OP- Cooperative Education
About CO-OP Programme
The YTU CO-OP Model (Cooperative Education), implemented within the scope of Workplace-Based Professional Training, is an innovative redefinition of the traditional internship model. The primary objective of CO-OP is to strengthen the relationship between the University and industry by establishing a more integrated and sustainable collaboration.
The University matches students who wish to participate in the CO-OP Program with employers operating in relevant sectors. Employers, in turn, begin preparing students who possess the qualifications they seek for professional life throughout the CO-OP training period.
CO-OP is often confused with a conventional internship; however, the two differ significantly. While internships are compulsory components of certain academic programs, participation in the CO-OP Program is entirely voluntary. The program is specifically designed to enhance collaboration between higher education institutions and industry.
CO-OP is carried out on a full-time and uninterrupted basis for one academic semester, in accordance with the working conditions and working hours of the host organization.
